Richard Lopez, a noted classical
pianist, created Too Far North as an outlet for his contemporary jazz
writing. The band, featuring Michael Cox on saxophones, Terry Douds on
bass, and Matt Wagner on drums, performs in a fresh and innovative style.
To quote from Richard's liner notes, "Too Far North's inspiration is
drawn from places in the sun - Puerto Rico, Mexico, Florida, California,
and the upbeat, raw energy of big city life. Many of the tunes were
conceived while on vacations in the tropics, on the beach or by a pool,
others while living and performing in Manhattan."
