This is the debut release from Los Viejos Blanquitos,
loosely translated as "the Old White Men". This group, made up of
professors at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, specializes in Latin Jazz
music. They are extremely popular amongst the latin dance crowd at OU,
and play to packed houses in the Campus community. This recording is on
the Brick House Records label, which is a student-run record label that
is a part of the School of Telecommunications of the Scripps College of
Communications at Ohio University. If you enjoy latin jazz, you'll love

This is the third release from guitarist Stan Smith (Associate Professor of Jazz Guitar at
Capital University), and it shows off some more of his amazing talents,
both as a performer and a composer.
Accompanying Stan on the recording are Chad Eby on
Saxophones, Dave DeWitt, Jeff Ciampa and Roger Hines on basses, Mark Flugge on Piano,
Byron Rooker on Alto Flute, Stephen Smith on
percussion, and Peter Retzlaff on drums.
